TechStreamTV Player for Android
TechStreamTV Player for Android and Fire OS uses the shared TechStreamTV Web UI.
Connect
The client can discover TechStreamTV Media Servers over UDP 5051 or connect using a manually entered server address.
It remembers the last server you used and checks compatibility before opening the shared TechStreamTV Web UI.
Compatibility check
Before connecting, the client checks whether its version is compatible with the TechStreamTV Web UI on the server.
If the versions cannot work together, the app blocks the connection and tells you that an update is required. This check does not download or install updates.
Playback
The app uses Android WebView for browsing and native LibVLC for playback. It supports play and pause, 10-second rewind and forward controls, seeking for on-demand media, playback progress reporting, and retry behavior.
Live HLS streams are shown as live media and do not use normal seeking.
Subtitles
The native player can display LibVLC subtitle tracks, turn subtitles off, and load subtitle URLs supplied by the connected TechStreamTV server.
Fullscreen and TV controls
The player includes immersive fullscreen, safe-area handling, TV-mode detection, D-pad navigation, media-key support, and held-seek controls.
See the release notes for Fire OS remote-control limitations.
Fire OS status
Fire OS support uses the Android client. Check the product guide and release information for supported Fire OS versions and device models.
Public availability
See Downloads for current release information. Use official download links and the installation guide for the selected release.
Development builds are not distributed through this documentation.
Updating
Consult Downloads and the release notes for Android and Fire OS update instructions.
Compatibility warnings can tell you when the client needs an update before it can connect, but they do not install updates for you.
